Chavez also won that round clearly.

 

Round 1 begins with a big Kastisidis jab. Katsidis wants to come forward and fight and Chavez looks set to box a lil. Chavez ducking and dipping and Katsidis is trying to box. Chavez trying to pop to the body but no go yet. Katsidis covering up as Chavez pushes the pace a little. Chavez JUST misses with a right hook on Katsidis. Katsidis sneaks in a quickie left but Katsidis is fine. Uppercut doubles up Chavez. Right hand pops Chavez. Both guys exchange uppercuts but neither one is strong. Round ends with both fighters trying to land their jabs.

Close if uneventful round.
