Well Pitalua is a live dog so you're not exactly alone in your belief. I don't see how Chavez could do it though.

I am watching the pre-fight hype and ODLH just said the Pitalua is like Bernard Hopkins, just more aggressive.

    :patsch:patsch:patsch

He means in the way he is old but always keeps in shape. We can forgive him.

Well we are underway now with Julio Diaz vs Rolando Reyes.

Barry Tompkins said that this is the most competitive division.

Hopkins said the division is wide open, plenty action and that it'll lead to bigger and better fighters for the winners.

Doug Fischer looks like a guy Hopkins would stuff in a locker back in High School.

Edwin Valero looks like a lightweight Austin Powers. He has a pretty wife though.

Antonio Pitalua has his own Aaron Pyror-esque "HAWK TIME!" rally crowd.

Jesus Chavez is from Austin and the crowd goes wild when they see him on the big screen.

Carlos Hernandez on the last hoorah. Hernandez says if he doesn't win he'll retire.

Hopkins says Austin is a great state....ay dios.

Doug Fischer talking about Vincente Escobedo. Fischer says that Famoso is the right opponent because he's never fought a name opponent. "He's 27 and that's too old to be a prospect." Fischer says that Famoso Hernandez is the fight Escobedo needs it.

Doug Fischer says the only thing seperating Reyes and Julio Diaz is championship experience.

    Talent Doug?

Diaz is one year younger, Reyes taller, Diaz heavier, equal reach.

Lupe Contreras is doing ring announcing tonight.

Yeah that is pretty unreal. That's Gatti-Gamache esque really.

Rolando Reyes has a very strange look on his face almost like a "well this should be quick" look.

Bell rings and round 1 is underway!
