it took a while for soto to get a belt so i dont think relinquishing it this early would be a choice for him. but yeah, he would have been a better choice than pitula, hernandez is ok IMO

Pitalau earned the shot by knocking out Santa Cruz, whom most think beat Casamayor even though he got jobbed on the cards.....

Honestly, Casamayor now would school and stop Valero.

I don't get it??? These normally knowledgable posters raving over a guy who is absolutely dreadful, who windmills clubbing shots and yet people think he is some kind of destroyer, even though he is moving up from a weight where he took 10 rnds to dispatch of Mosquera?!?!?!?!?!?!

Sorry guys, this isn't the next installment of Wilfredo Gomez or Julian Jackson. This guy is the new Lamar Clarke and the first time he fights someone half-decent, Katsidis, Pitalua, Casa, Hell, I think John Murray would beat this guy.

He is so overrated it's unbelievable. I'd like for him to prove me wrong as he's so exciting to watch, but come on he's a joke.

just an example. How is this guy going to beat anyone noteowrthy??? Soto would've smashed him at SFW, and most of the top guys at LW (even feather fisted guys like David/Juan Diaz would batter him) will beat him. He's a joke.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but I don't see what you guys see in him. You're entitled to your opinion, but saying 'he looks good in sparring' or 'he will show his full set of skills when he needs to' doesn't wash with me.

Does anyone else agree with me? Or does everyone think Valero has the goods to beat the top guys at LW?

I don't think it's a genuine tournament anyways, as in WINNER A will fight WINNER B and WINNER C will fight WINNER D.

    Is it?

If it is, not only am I wrong but very excited! Shame no UK TV company will show this.

You think Channel 5 would get the rights to this kinda' stuff, or Nuts TV??? Why is boxing so underappreciated in this country in terms of TV rights when there are so many diehard fans?

It's basically illegal for me to watch these fights. As if they're not being shown over here, the only way I can see it is on the net (against the law) or buying a DVD (against the law) Effectively it is illegal for a British boxing fan to watch this fight, unbelievable.

It seems now the evidence has been presented no one wants to fight Valero's case?

    Hmmmmmmmmmm..........

Whole lotta also rans in this little tourament (I'm lookin at you Jesus Chavez, Carlos Hernandez and Casa). Anyways it's still a very solid night of boxing if ya ask me.

Valero SHOULD handle Pitalua in relatively short fashion. I don't think Edwin is great but he beats this guy easily.

Michael Katsidis and Jesus Chavez should be really really fun. A nice brawler fest that should entertain the masses. I'll go with Kats in this one, possibly by TKO.

Barrios vs El Famoso sounds like another sluggers fest. If I HAD to bet on somebody, I'd pick Barrios but El Famoso is a live dog.

Casa should really clown Julio Diaz. I like Julio but he's way too slow.

I think IF these are the legit brackets for it, You've got Casa-Katsidis II in the finals.
