Hey all, i was just wondering can you still build strength in your muscles with just doing alot of reps with little amount of weights. Like for instance in my case i usually use 30lb dumbells if i cut down to 20lbs and did alot of reps will i gain muscle str or lose?

You won't be building strength, you will be trianing your muscles for greater endurance. If you wish to achieve strength then get heavy weights and keep reps below 4. If not having heavy enough weights is the problem then find out some harder exercises, and use bodyweight strength exercises such as one handed press-ups, advanced pull-up variations and one legged squats.

Whatever requires strength will force the building of strength through adaptation. Light weights will not.
