Why don't the judges post live round by round scorecards during the fight, surely this would help eliminate shock decisions and much controversy.
Perhaps - as long as they aren't open scorecards where the corners have the information. I take it you mean where the scores get punched into a computer whereby the local commission official gets the info on a round by round basis? Open scorecards suck. End of story.
Yeah something more official than scribbling on a piece of paper, tapping the results into computer round by round will eliminate any fiddling with the scorecards later on.
No idea..... She ought to have received a life ban from scoring fights after Lewis vs Holyfield I. Especially after she still insisted that her scores were correct when Jim Lampley quizzed her afterwards. The worst thing was that she gave the 5th to Evander - it was closer to a 10-8 for Lewis than a 10-9 to Holyfield
Williams was shown a videotape of the fifth round in which she was the only judge to declare Holyfield the winner. Afterwards she said: "What I saw on TV is not the same as what I saw that night. I can only go by what I looked at that night and I scored that accordingly." She then said she would have given that round to Lewis. Quite funny.
I think the original reason was that Lewis had his back to her throughout. Bearing in mind Lewis was beating the **** out of Holyfield all over the ring in that round, it makes her seem a bit silly.
