If he wins on Saturday will he hold a candle to Duran’s legacy at lightweight?

if lomachenko beats haney, stevenson and davis, you could make a discussion at least. it would be tough to talk about duran because it is difficult to separate duran's total body of work from his work at light weight.

Well said. Duran had longevity at 135 but it's his wins over Leonard at 147, Moore at 154 and Barkley at 160 that most folks talk about and with good reason. Lightweights simply don't move up and win middleweight titles almost two decades into their career.

Duran is certainly in the conversation as the GOAT. With that said Lomo is a special fighter as well.

Even with the Haney win I wouldn't have him at top 10 at 135

based only on what they did at 135 in no order.

    Joe Gans
    Benny Leonard
    Roberto Duran
    Lou Ambers
    Tony Canzoneri
    Freddie Welsh
    Ike Williams
    Carlos Ortiz
    Packey McFarland
    Henry Armstrong

Personally I wouldn't put Loma's 135 career ahead of any of those guys.

No, he won't. In boxing, it is all about resumes and in the case of Loma it is not extensive enough to be in any conversation that includes Roberto Duran.
