Has he been in public recently? Granted, he's 90 years old but I don't remember the last time he made an appearance. Thoughts on his influence and impact? He seems to be the next giant of the sport to go. Though I may have disliked some of his antics, he always came across as a sincere and real guy cut from the old cloth. The anecdotes I have heard and read seem to confirm this.
He was on Ringside Marciano around 06. He was older a little harder to understand. Last I heard of him he was helping China with their boxing program.
The last thing I think I've even heard about him was an interview with Golota's wife who said way back when, he was basically, in my words, a nasty, old ***** to her, until he found out she was a lawyer and then quite civil afterward, as though it concerned him. From my impressions of him up to that point, I can't say I wasn't inclined to believe he was being nasty for no good reason. Anyway, no, I haven't seen him pop up in a few years.
