    Hello,

I do not have the facts, just share opinion
I have a feeling Lou Duva had bad influence on some of the fighters like Pernell Whitaker and Meldrick Taylor.
First off, I noticed in some of the Whitaker bouts, Duva get rid of Pernell long time coach.
Secondly, Duva clearly abused the talent of Meldrick Taylor.

I have a feeling this guy was "wolf in sheep clothing", who played "daddy" to fighter and srcewed them. I guess it is a common practice now by promoters to get rid of fighters original trainers. They do you for the control sake.

What are your thoughts on that?

Well, he certainly did Taylor no favors by jumping on the ring apron like a jackass, distracting him during the count in the Chavez fight, giving Richard Steele a reason to stop the fight with 2 seconds left. I remember Holyfield had a problem with him too, something about a conflict of interest with them cheering a victory for Razor Ruddick I think while they still managed Holyfield.

Didn't do Taylor any favors by putting him in with Norris and then Espana. Watch the Espana fight, and the corner work is cartoonish it is so bad.
At first they are telling Taylor to stay away, from a much taller man with a longer reach. Then they tell him to get inside, and Taylor clearly has no ****ing idea how to do so.
He and Georgie Benton looked real real bad in the corner during that fight.

He was mosltly a cheerleader and a motivator. Not much of a trainer in my opinion. It didnt look good that as soon as Holyfield loses one fight they part ways. I remember Duva tried to imply that Evander wasnt training hard LOL.

Lou Duva is a great guy one of boxings real characters. If you ever talked to Lou he'd tell ya that in his opinion boxing died in the 50's LOL Todays fighters wouldn't live with the 50's fighters.
I'll never forget Lou the night my good buddy Gene Mad Dog Hatcher's left hook starched Johnny Bumphus & take his world title. Lou just about went beserk That wasn't supposed to happen. After all Gene was a replacement No one told Genn that though. Don't know which was funnier to watch Lou's ranting or Johnny Bumphus chicken dance

I found a similar story about a guy named *********, he was Lou fighter and Lou wanted to punk him, so he would loose to another fighter. However, ********* won and made Lou upset. What a jerk Lou must have been!

Lou had a chance to have heavyweight champs with Mitch Green and Tony Tucker, blew it.

    Great guy.
But a little prone to over-excitement.

I don't think Duva and his histrionics added anything to a corner.

He and Benton were a poor combination in a fighters corner.
In Tyrells fight with Tyson they were hopeless...also as someone said Duva was quick to dump a fighter once beaten.
