Luevano v JuanMa

    I doubt it, I don't rate Luevano. He was pathetic in his fight against Concepcion. He threw like 300 jabs and landed about 28. That's his main punch and he was unbelievably tentative. Little power to worry about either, and he's not very strong. He's basically just a mediocre to good boxer.

    Initially I agreed with you but most of those jabs were thrown to keep Concepcion away. If you look at it that way you understand that his purpose was not necessarily to connect but to let Concepcion know if he go in he was going to pay.

    JuanMa can't steamroll everybody, as has become more and more self-evident. One of these days he will be outboxed. It could be the 23rd.

    That was also one bad night. He's had other fights...

    He's never looked spectacular, which is why most other prospects like Linares got more ink - but he's got a solid game and could be the type of guy who hangs around and snatches a belt here and there with thrillless but effective performances.
