From Fightnews Garcia targets DeGale Irish based Cuban sensation Luis El Leon Garcia says he is ready, willing and able to accept a fight with Britains Gold medallist, James Chunky DeGale if a clash between DeGale and domestic rival George Groves cant be made. Degales promoter Frank Warren made Groves a written offer today for the fight to take place in the UK on December 11th and set DeGales London rival a 48 hour deadline to accept or reject the fight. However Garcia says he wouldnt need any time to sleep on it. I would accept that fight in a split second, said Garcia. I could get some Christmas shopping done in London and show Chumpy DeGale what professional boxing is all about so it sounds like a fun weekend to me. Garcia would spank Degale- He is something very special
He may be special, but based on his competition has done little learning since he turned pro, and apparently has some bad habits outside the ring. Would be an amazing fight if it came off, I was only saying the other day that these Cubans need to get in the mix over here. Degale vs Garcia would be as good as Groves Vs Degale, in terms of the anticipation it would create (for me anyway)
garcia has looked v.good last few fights , the lad cruz he beat in his last fight inside 3 took pascal 10 and bute 12 . he would spank degale his fights against sipos and cruz have been better than anything degale faced so far
Their sparring used to be on youtube, can't find it now. At this stage, I wouldn't know how to pick. Garcia sounds awesome by all accounts, just haven't seen enough of him.
Is Luis Garcia one of the Cubans, Glenn McCrory had something to do with in Tyneside or have I got it totally wrong??
Here's Garcia's last couple of fights against Cruz and Nathan King [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=02vzg1ic9EM[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FyOF_D1oU6E[/ame]
I dont understand?? He's 23 years of age and has only had 9 fights, of which the competition seems pretty decent. Boxing is a progressive game, he's hardly supposed to be challenging the top dogs after 7 or 8 fights...I think he's been brought along nicely to be honest. His last 2 fights were definite step ups in class, and for my money has fought better competition(or at least comparable) than degale and groves....
I doubt Garcia will fight anyone with a pulse in the next 5 years. Nah joking. Garcia is a great prospect and a fight between him and DeGale would be great to make.
I think DeGale is better then people realise. I wouldn't like to call it but I'm pretty sure it would be a very good fight to watch for the fans.
Not sure. Not seen much of Garcia apart from reading his amateur notes and the youtube vids but DeGale looks on his class. Reallly looking forward to seeing how he does against live opponents...guess the same can be said of each man.
