He was embarassed at the beating he took in the last round. As a fight i think Machida won. BUT as a UFC contest there can be no doubt in my mind that Machida Lost. As said above this is a reason why the scoring needs to be changed.
Machida has only lost one fight to Shogun. He's in the title picture and while it's not probable that he'll regain his title, I think he'll have an opportunity to regain it. Whether or not he actually does is up in the air and I'd LOVE to see a fight between Jones and Machida. Best match up at 205 that I can imagine.
He is one of my favourite fighters as well, along with BJ Penn he is probably my favourite, now that Big Nog has declined. He doesn't have a fight scheduled as yet, but while the champion Jon Jones is tied up fighting Quinton Jackson, I'd like to see Machida have a stay-busy fight soon. Ideally, the UFC would sign Gegard Mousasi and pitch him in with Lyoto, but as that doesn't seem likely, I'd say probably Vladimir Matyushenko is the best of the available options (I know he has a fight coming up with Gustafsson, but that could easily be cancelled). But to answer your question - Yes. I do believe Machida can regain his title soon. It isn't likely considering how good Jones looks, but Machida is the biggest threat out there for Jones, along with a fully fit and active Shogun. Lyoto's style will present problems for Jones for sure, problems he hasn't encountered before.

Really if IIRC he had Machida up against the cage for most of the fight and Machida did nothing of note. It wasnt a dominating round but a clear round for Jackson
Yes i asked, that. So if they don't give him a title shot what will they do with him? He won tuf so he has a contract right? They have to give him a fight. And if he keeps winning how can they keep him from a title fight?
Machida can beat Jones. Whether or not he gets the chance to do so any time soon is another thing altogether. If recent PPV changes have taught us anything - it's that everything is possible. No one saw Jones leap frogging the top light heavies to a title shot to begin with but the opportunity was there because of injuries and obligations of the other fighters. Evans and Davis could put themselves on the shelf in a damaging battle. Anything is possible. I hope Machida gets a title shot soon - but I'm happy watching him clean up the other top light heavyweights in the meantime. There are plenty of great fights for Lyoto in the future: Shogun, Rampage, Davis, or considering the Strikeforce buyout - even Henderson and King Mo are possibilities.
