Not sure if this has already been covered but Macklin got the rounds he needed off the tough Pintos. A cut eye has now pushed the Pirog defence back. Any thoughts on his performance? http://news.boxrec.com/news/2009/macklin-defeats-pintos-dublin
Excellent write-up Steve. I think Matthew boxed well, and I'm 100% in agreement that Matt needed the rounds. How long is the Pirog contest delayed.
Cheers mate. Not sure on the delay but it won't be February. Seems that an Andy Lee fight is off the menu too for now.
------------------------ he has the mandatory to face first. Pirog is the challnger. He can either vactate if Hatton gets him a world title shot or else he has to face Porog. The Lee fight would be a substitute for not getting a world title shot due the the big gate receipts Peters could get him.
If Macklin beat Pirog he could take a voluntary before any form of world title shot. I think Lee was being considered for that space in the schedule. Not so sure he is now though.
I'd rather Macklin just fights for a world title next, rather than all these fights he'll probably get nothing out of.
