Heiland just looked to fresh and strong for him last night, picture perfect punch to end things for a tiring Macklin.

An entertaining fighter who's gave us some top fights, but wars catch up with you and I think that's now the case with Macklin.

I've met him after shows before and he's a top guy, a shame he never managed to get his hands on a world title (although he beat Sturm...) but I do think he now needs to consider his future.

Another ko loss vs an Argentinian southpaw... but this one is a cheaper version of the previous one.

He looked awful against Yebes. Now he had stamina just for four rounds. If he is not 100% into boxing he should retire.

Anyone notice that Macklin appeared to have some sort of infection? His nasal mucus was green, usually a sign of something, even a simple cold can have serious effects on performance.

I'm not saying this would have changed the outcome, but I just felt there was something not quite right, he seemed tired very early on and it was something my wife picked up on, not me.

That may be in the back of his mind, that he wasn't at 100% and might not want to go out like that.

Still Heiland, looked improved and was far better than I anticipated he'd be. He can clearly be out-boxed if you've got the footwork to keep away. He's a busy fighter though!

ETA He's had a superb career against what can be considered a very tough division over the past few years. As mentioned, Sturm was his chance and he didn't get the nod, he can retire proud.

I think that green stuff was a vapour rub, could be wrong though.

He was dog tired after 4 rounds. Hope he hangs them up now. Don't want to see him suffer any Maccarinelli type knockouts. His punch resistance drops alarmingly when he's tired, as would anyone's but its very apparent with Macklin.

Andy Lee would beat him up on that performance unless he's dramatically slid too.
