I wouldn't get my hopes up about this fight ever happening,great fight as it looks.Macklin has just had what Id say is his best ever win.He drew with Sturm,who has just had a great win over Barker.There was a return clause,but it looks like Darren won't fight again.So chances are hell be looking for an opponent.Both Matt and Murray did well against him.So Id say Matt would be looking to this rather than a {very} risky non title fight.
I figured Macklin would win the poll but I don't think Stevens would've gotten any votes before Golovkin. So his stock really probably did increase.
Macklin is well over the very crude and limited Stevens. Remember he won the British title by ko, the European title by ko and really did win against Sturm. Mack would have to be very, very unlucky or downright careless for Stevens to beat him.

he can't even cut it at mid level either. if people are going to hype him up to be someone at Middle, then they have to accept the digs when he again fails against someone with a pulse. he's garbage. pure garbage. overrated power, and no boxing ability at all.
