It doesn't hurt to hope for the best... Some have recovered from worse.

If you blame the handlers then what does that make the officials?

a twitter update said they took him off life support today as he was able to breathe on his own, but that didnt last long because 3 hours later that had to once again induce him into a coma and put him back on the life suport system. Doesnt look good for him

Blaming the cornermen or officials is pointles at this moment in time. All we can do is hope that Mago isnt left out in the cold if he survives this tragic moment in his life. All my prayers to him,his family, and all concerned.

    ^ This.

Anyone who can should try and send a few $s as well.

Ain't about blaming people either, really. Just about trying to make sure everything possible is done to avoid such tragedies in future.

Such a bad situation, hope he manages to beat expectations and recover. As far as blaming corner.. I sort of disagree. I really think most corners would have stopped the fight very early. If we want to prevent this in the future, corners who make big mistakes should feel some heat.

By the same token, we need to not be hypocritical as fans... and when fighters or corners throw in the towel they should not be excoriated.

Something a lot of people dont realize is it takes courage to stop a fight just as it does to fight one. Its just a different kind of courage: moral courage. Every boxer who laces up gloves shows tremendous physical courage. And every trainer or ref who stops a fight despite backlash from fans, networks, the fighter himself, possibly losing bigger paydays shows moral courage.

Moral courage should be recognized and applauded as much as physical courage. Its lack should be derided and scorned as much as a lack of physical courage as well.
