I'm not advocating for this fight because I think Canelo is the much bigger man and is a step above Maidana but I can't help but think GB would love to make this fight. After all, they beefed up Josesito Lopez and fed him to Canelo after one "big" win. It would be a good sell and by far the biggest payday of Maidana's career. What are the chances of this happening? Would they make Maidana fight in March?
In a few more years they will. For right now Angulo is like Maidana in his weight class, so thats who he probably is gonna fight next
I hope you're right but... Angulo is coming off of a loss, Maidana is coming off the biggest win of his career. Maidana has the bigger name and is huge in Argentina, his stock will probably never be higher. Angulo is the riskier opponent having fought at 154. And Maidana would probably be willing to fight with a quick turnaround if the price is right. He's disposable to GB. I can see it happening.
Canelo might have the same problem where he's not active enough to keep Maidana off but he's used to getting hit by lmw so hell probably take it by UDe
