    Good move for him???

I think so, considering all the promotional troubles he's had the last few years. Real shame he wasn't able to fight more, cause he's getting close to being past his prime...

    Main Events inks Adamek!
Main Events has signed world-ranked cruiserweight contender and former WBC light heavyweight champion Tomasz Adamek, it was announced today by Main Events CEO Kathy Duva. Main Events and Warrior Promotions (promoter of O'Neil Bell) have begun negotiations for a spring IBF-eliminator showdown between Adamek and Bell. The winner would become the mandatory to IBF champion Steve Cunningham. "Main Events is proud to sign Tomasz," said Duva. "He is a former light heavyweight champion and soon to be world cruiserweight champion." Adamek (33-1, 22 KOs) has stopped 15 opponents within the first three rounds. The 31-year-old Zywiec, Poland native captured the vacant WBC light heavyweight championship on May 21, 2005, when he decisioned Paul Briggs (W 12). He defended the title twice before losing to Chad Dawson on Feb 3, 2007 (L 12). Since moving to cruiserweight he is 2-0, 1 KO. Adamek is also the IBO Cruiserweight Champion and is ranked #6 in the IBF and #7 in the WBA. Main Events and Ziggy Promotions will co-promote Adamek.

This was rumored to happen a couple of weeks ago & I'm really glad it got done. Main Events should take care of him. They're always looking to get one of their fighters into title bouts. So it looks like Bell & then Cunningham. I still have faith in his abilities to be one of the premier fighters in the game today.

I'm sure he'll be living in North Jersey now, so maybe I'll have the opportunity to visit him again one day!

I think it can't hurt, but let's hope Main Events becomes more proactive with him than they've been lately. They've really been hurt by Golden Boy, so this comes as good news.

Adamek vs. Bell could be an excellent fight, provided Bell has his head on straight.

I hope doesnt for Adamek sake.

Beating Bell would be a BIG win for Adamek.

You better believe that would put him back as a front runner. He's probably a superior boxer than any of the top Cruisers. He just has to watch out for the extra power he'll now be facing.

Which leads to the inevitable worry over his tendency to eat straight right hands over and over. I still don't think he's filled in at Cruiserweight, though against an opponent like Bell we'll certainly see his worth.

I think that Bell is too strong for Adamek, who IMO, hasn't filled in for the cruiserweight division yet.

    Adamek beating Bell?

    LOL.

Adamek got shut out by Chad Dawson; Bell would destroy him.

It's not a matter of styles.

Both of them are simply better than Adamek. And if you can't see that you're crazy.

Actually, no it wasn't. Ziggys gym is in Jersey City & for some reason, I think to accomodate the sparring partner, that day they train in a gym in South Hackensack.

    :good
