Makhmudov is awful

Why are people underrating Takem? Current Takem schooled the next big hope that was supposed to blow everybody away. That big French lad who won Gold. Nobody has an easy fight against Takem.

 

His head gets there before the uppercut does.

 

Yoka already got beat by Bakole beforehand. Before fighting Makhmudov, Joyce stopped Takam in 6.

 

Not true Joshua didn't struggle against Takam, other than the busted nose. He had Takam in survival mode for most of the fight and it would have been a shut out points victory if not for the premature stoppage.

But the fact he did beat Takam does show Makhmudov isn't a complete fraud. At worst he's gate keeper/fringe contender level. But Takam clearly exposed some flaws, he even had Makhmudov backing up at some points of the fight. His offence is his defence and he's basically a one trick pony with the right hand and just far to predictable. Also he wasn't able to stop Takam so there's a question mark over his power at the top level.

I'd favour him over the likes of Dubois or Ajagba. He probably KO's Anderson too due to the style match up not favouring Anderson with his lean back defence.

But I think guys like Hrgovic, Joyce, Zhang and Sanchez would beat him. I don't see Makhmudov being the future of the division, the very top guys would quickly disarm him, toy with him and beat him down.

Joshua won the fight and most if not all the rounds. Never the less Takem was in his face on the front foot throughout making him work. He wasn’t losing rounds by much.

 

Yeah and Joyce was seen as a serious top 10 operator after that win. It’s a far better win than the one he has over Dobios.

 

I watched 25 seconds of that clip and this is who this forum has been salivating over the last month or so?
