The technological and production changes you speak of are the very reason the bottom earners are down.

Those bottom earners are in low-skilled manufacturing and service jobs that require little training, responsibility or creativity: secondary sector and low-skilled service sector jobs. These jobs are being replaced by the forces of globalization and technology. Manufacturing jobs are shipped elsewhere or otherwise automatized. Low-skilled service jobs are being shipped to India.

There's a great shift in the developed world towards high-skilled jobs with problem-solving as a prerequisite. A lot of the people who lost their old good jobs don't have these skills and the institutions in place don't provide the necessary training -- or these employees simply lack the motivation.

Thus, they are forced into lower paying jobs that are still around... manufacturing jobs that haven't been automatized or clerkships/administrative positions that pay little and have weak advancement opportunities.

On the other hand, the top 10% of earners are well-connected problem solvers who can adapt to the changing economy by diverting their human capital to better paying jobs that have come about through the forces of globalization and technology.

Going by their last fights, Malignaggi by sixth round TKO.

But on a serious note, I'd give Malignaggi a chance at "outboxing" Margarito before sucumbing late. He's no quitter either. As he's shown in the his fight with Cotto.

Marg would have zero respect for anything Paulie throws...and that would be his undoing. Paulie wins by stoppage after an accumulation of clubbing blows renders Margarito in the fetal position on the canvas.
