Mares/Perez fight

Both fighters looked good. I was happy with the draw decision it seemed fair as Mares wasn't aggressive enough in the middle rounds and it cost him the win. The thing I noticed was that he seemed to do better exchanging on the inside than running and jabbing in the middle rounds.

I think the judges gave a few rounds to Perez because he hit harder not because of punch output and that can make the difference in professional bouts, this isn't the amateurs anymore.

Anyway great fight looking forward to the rematch.

 

you dont have to be aggressive when you've outboxed your opponent for 4 rounds and are keeping a good pace in your first title fight...





MARES WAS ROBBED

 

really great fight, imange, if Perez can do that to Mares, what Juan Lopez wuld do !! He didnt like his punches, well, its good for Mares to stay away from Juanma than because he got knockout power that will send him over the ropes !! Anybody wanna see Cabellero vs Mares now?

 

I had it 6-6. Would have been fine 7-5 either way, but I like that Mares closed the show so strongly.

 

Draw...was the correct decision...i had it 6-6 a piece...

 

i was busy watching the fight did not score well, scoring that fight really escaped me. but mares did not sweep anything lol Perez was hurting him since round 2 i belive and mares became tentative, than backed off, than smart, and finally sucessful.

he will win the rematch. :smoke

It was the first time I've seen Mares fight, I was really impressed with him.

 

And if Mares was from Spain and Perez was from Mexico, Perez would of been robbed.

why doesn't juanma man the **** up and fight gamboa or caballero instead of calling out a shot marquez/vasquez...

Mares won the fight, dominately won the first 3 rounds and won the last 3 as well clearly, finished strong I also gave him the 4th round it was a close fight wouldn't call it a robbery but the winner was definately Mares he landed more, landed the more effective punches, sweapt the early rounds and won the late rounds it was close but I dont think anyone can honestly give that to Perez ..not a robbery but Perez clearly didn't win.
