remember when he had a long layoff and came back to fight clottey? Until Clottey hurt his left hand he was KILLING Margarito. In that fight Margarito pawed every punch. What im trying to say is Long Layoff + Ban + Heavily blemised legacy= a DONE fighter He will come back when reinstated but the fire is gone.
It doesn't matter what was in the wraps, the fact is there was something at all is why he should have been suspended for about a year...
I was a BIG fan of both him and Cotto. To see him get caught like that(he was caught before the fight-reason why he hasnt been banned) and then get the living **** beat out of him by Mosley broke my heart as a fan. I still respect Cotto and would love to see a rematch to get some type of closure to this.
You can easily compare them. Both cheated by tampering with their gloves / wraps. To punch harder. Margartio's knuckle pads were hard, the court documents even state they were hard. They should be soft, its ****ing gauze.
Both guys are gret fighters to watch and always give it their best. Tony was at the top of the welter division for years and got no love. Then he gets some shots lost a close one with Williams where he physically beat PTP up dusted of Cintron twice and fought with everything against Cotto and won. No one likes to see a guy who isn't as physically gifted as another won. Somehow they cheated to beat someone who is a faster better boxer. They did catch him before he got a chance to use the pad. I can't imagine him getting his license back if he was attempting to use loaded gloves. That would be the same as attempted murder and far worse than a year ban.
Please no.....then when he beats a damaged Margo he'll say "Hey why do I need to fight Cotto? Margarito kicked his ass, now see what I did to him."
If he can get licensed again, he is still a tough opponent for anyone (except Mosley I guess ) But his style does not give one a long career. His defense is a rock hard chin and throwing more punched then his opponent, and he's been boxing half his life.
:rofl What an idiot. Why a Mosley-Margarito rematch ? Mosley DOMINATED every secound of that fight and damn near killed Margarito. Legit fight ? I didnt see Mosley failing any test but I did see a Margarito without plaster getting flat destroyed. Even if Mosley was on some HGH and lets assume he was and it helped how much different could a rematch be ? Maybe Margarito might arguablly win 1 round instead of clearly losing all of them ? What a improvement that would be.
I dont believe Margarito cheated in his wins I know hes stupid but hes not stupid enough to walk around the ring after fights with loaded wraps on. You see him shaking hands and **** with only his wraps on after the Cotto fight.
Where was it ever stated officially that the pads were hard????????? Shane Mosely looked at them himself and said they looked harmless to him
