As I stated before the Mosely fight, that would be a decent indicator at to where he was at. I believe Margie peaked mentally and physically for the Cotto fight which as he stated himself that was the fight of his life which would open a lot of doors $$$ for him and he was fighting in honor of his fallen brother. Margie was on top of the hill peak wise and after the Cotto fight he landed on the wrong side of the hill. Especially against Mosley who pushed him over the edge and started the freefall on the wrong side of the hill. Margie will never be the same fighter!!!!! Mark it down ....Margie is a shot fighter whose brain has gello-ed!!!! What are your thoughts on this????
I can understand how you feel.....if I were in your shoes, well.... Sometimes the truth can be a hard pill to swallow and in most cases the response is to call something BS !!!!!
I think you are probably right. He had reached the pinnacle of his career vs Cotto. Mosley was also a terrible style fight for him. Plus with the beating he took in that fight, I think it is reasonable to say he will never be the same.
Margo was never that good to begin with. He made name for himself of off PBF and loading his gloves to beat the likes of Clottey, Cintron and Cotto. A blind man could see he was limited and plodding and would eventually get exposed again but his fans couldn't or refused to see it. A green Williams beating him at his own game should have been a good indication of it.:-( I never bought into the Margo hype.
Like he ever accomplished anything to be considered "shot" now. Margarito is a fraud who cheated against Cotto and tried to do the same against a way past it Mosley but failed and got KO'd in one-sided fashion. Margarito fought the way he always fights though without the plaster and was exposed, simple as that.
Margo was taking bombs from Mosley that would have knocked out anyone else much sooner. How can you call that shot?
I disagree with you. he will get big fights because he has a good relationship with his promoter Bob Arum, and he is the one who makes the fights.
the style matchup was perfect for Shane who is a much better at setting traps and counterpunching than Cotto is and also physically stronger.
I wanna see Tony in against some decent fighters again before I say he's finished and what not...If he still don't do $hit when he comes back than all of his W's are in question cuz of his hand wrap happening...1 fight put his whole career in question but if he can come back and win than I would stop questioning his previous fights now!
Tell me then. Why would he have to cheat against a Mosley who Cotto beat, when he beat the brakes off of Cotto? Every trainer doesn't have an eye for these kind of things.
