Margarito, pre-Cotto fight, destroys Matthysse. Absolutely. Marg was a wrecking machine. Slow starts were his only weakness. Hell, Mayweather didn't want any of him despite what anyone says.

As IB said, I'd have to see Matthysse at 147 first. He'd need a challenge at that weight. Prime Margo was a beast to the brick. Matthysse is much more careful, though.

:patsch So Money ducked the one dimensional plodding Tijuana club slugger for a far inferior and smaller fighter in De La Hoya. Riiiiiiiight. :rofl

By prime you mean when that cheating F C K had bricks? Matthysse is not made of steel. Of course Margarito would win with bricks. In a fair fight, Margarito would be the bum that he's been without bricks.

Danny Garcia is still running from Matthysse. He will give up one of his titles rather than fight Matthysse, or even both!!! Watch and see. Garcia is extremely afraid, he is a coward..........

Or....the added mass can add to the impact. I don't think Matthysse's power would be rendered useless at any weight class. The man is a brute. I question whether it would lessen it or improve upon it. In most cases it is the former but if it is the latter -- I question whether even a plastered Margo could beat that "Machine.".

You make it sound like Oscar Del La Hoya was Mayweathers last fight. As if he couldn't fight Margarito before or after he fought De La Hoya. You said duck. I didn't say it. Arum was in the way of that one anyhow.

I see a lot of people picking Margo, and I agree.

Funny how some of the same people when asked the same question about a 147 lb. Paul thinks Matthysse is too powerful and skilled. As I recall, Paul's chin while at 147 was probably as good as Margo's. And he was just as skilled, and had even better stamina.
