Starling ruined Honeyghan that night. Damn good fighter. Don't know what the **** roosters talking about!
Marlon Starling was a very good fighter he is one of the fighters that was coming up when i was just becoming a knowledgeable boxing fan, Followed his whole career and early on he looked almost as good as Curry the first fight was very close, they use to show alot of Starlings fights on ESPN, however he had a few lazy performances in between i remember him losing to unheralded Pedro Villella when Starling was in his prime. Today Starling would be a live underdog for any of the elite ( Pac,May,Mosley) hed even be capable of pulling an upset. Id say Starling is just a tiny bit better than A Prime Cotto and slightly below Forrest in a HTH sense.
Yeah, Starling was a very good fighter. A win over Curry certainly would've helped his legacy, but I think both decisions were fair (the first was close). He caught Simon Brown when he was pretty green (another underrated welter). Starling definitely had something to do with Breland not reaching his potential. I agree with an earlier post that he would've beaten McCrory.
