How far do people think he will go?

Ive seen quite alot of him at shows and never been overly struck on him. Way way overrated if im honest. Not much power for a big middleweight, decent skills mind, with a record of 23-0-0, but who has he beat??

His fans on sat were singing......are u scared Matthew Macklin, Are u scared Matthew Macklin, if you fancy a bout, give us a shout, martin Murrays gonna knock u out! Macklin beats him easy everyday of the week for me.

Think a good fight which would attract aload of fans would be Martin Murray vs Paul Smith.....St-Helens vs Liverpool

How do u see this going??

Smith points or late stoppage for me, don't think Murray will go any further than European level if that.

I think he's at least as good as Matthew Macklin right now to be honest. With good matchmaking Murray could maybe pick up an alphabelt one day but I doubt he'd ever go on to threaten at genuine elite level.

I thought he looked really composed and solid last Saturday even though he was against limited opposition.

Him v Paul Smith would be a really good fight at the moment. I think I'd slightly favour Murray but could be close.

I'm really surprised at his fanbase. Considering the level he's at, he seems to have a lot of fans already. The arena at the weekend was pretty full, he had 400 people at the weigh in and he was mentioned on north west news. Pretty huge media attention considering who he was fighting and the fact he's only at British level.

I can see him gettin a shot at the vacant european middleweight title after Barker relinquishes it to fight Martinez.

Its simple put him in with Paul Smith at the Echo Arena its a massive sellout and a litmus test great crossroads fight for both.

I think he's domestic level to be honest, he might win a vacant European against the right opponent.

He might be British champion but he's not as good as Barker or Macklin IMO.

Martin's a lovely guy and good to watch but let me add Craig McEwan into the mix,imo his skill levels are above any of the English lads and we hope to prove it

Got to agree with you there, I think McEwan could take the european belt easily!

Or how about "Lets take McEwan out of this thread and stick to the point it hand"????

Smith Murray would be a good scrap. Smith's power was well overrated at 168 but moving back down it could be better. It'd need to be coz he's not great technically and Murray is strong.

Both Macklin and Barker could well lose this year at 'World Level' if either drop back down to Euro level thats Murray back to domestic level as these two would beat him handily :good
