I'm confused with this Are people saying he was paid to stay down? Or Are people saying he took his pay check and was never interested in the fight?
Suprised he bothered getting up after the first KD to be fair, but ultimately, he was only here for the payday. Apparantly since arriving in the UK he spent most of his time eating like a king at various s****y London restaurants and not bothering to train. He is a nobody club fighter who was in the right place at the right time and hit the jackpot, he probably still can't believe his luck.
I imagine he took the fight for the money. Couldn't see him fighting AJ for peanuts. He might have thought it quite a daunting task and realised that there were easier, but less lucrative options. However, he probably trained hard and by fight night believed he could possibly pull it of. When he got decked though, i imagine doubt set in and his fighting spirit left him.
He took a dive and face planted the floor after eating two pretty big right hands because his ring attire was questionable at best.
I can just imagine Martin gnawing on a Turkey drumstick while wearing the chintzy-looking crown he wore, sporting a goofy grin -- the same goofy grin he had upon his countenance immediately after suffering his second knockdown -- in between mouthfuls.
