I'm starting to think EVERY fighter out there has this rabid fan base that stays quiet, then suddenly explodes into total ******ation when their boy does good. Here's the story on Martinez. Good welterweight. PRetty good JMW. Decent MW who came along at the right time. He's undersized for the division and wouldn't have the title if there were any good middleweights around. He's a lunging, awkward hook artist like Sam Soliman with better power, and that doesn't make him Mayweather or Pac or anything close to their level. He got lucky and came along at the right time, with the right opponent and threw the right punch (with his eyes closed). I like the guy, he's ballsy and fun to watch, but he's no true p4p fighter. So enjoy it while it lasts.
After a fighter win a fight you get the accolades and the claims of best ever. Then after am month or two things go back to normal. If Manny beats Mayweather by knockout, things will never go back to normal since everyone will say he is an incredible fighter, not just his fans.

Already schooled and stopped Cintron, the world knows it, and most felt he outpointed Willy in the first encounter namsayin? Now he goes out and devastated, destroys, anything you want, the same man inside two rounds...and all we can say is, "lucky punch", even though he had thrown the same punch two times already in that round and landed both times. I don't know why you don't like Sergio...but I expected more sense from you, B.
nothing to dislike about sergio imo... he is not claiming anything.. he just fights the best available and looks pretty good doing it.. and he didn't ***** over the bad decision he has get against him, classy guy ..
I'm a big Martinez fan now (after Williams I and Pavlik). A month ago, I said that Martinez was #2 on the P4P list.
