So can Martinez beat him. For the record Martinez does remind me a lot of Ali with his reflex style and foot work and Golovkin reminds me a lot of Foreman with his amazing but slower raw clubbing power.

Having said all this I fear Martinez has now become too vulnerable fo a guy like this and probably gets stopped although I'm not willing to completely write him off.

Martinez cannot beat him anymore IMO. He always depended on his reflexes and legs to avoid his opponent's offence as he doesn't have too much "traditional" boxing skills which can be explained by his lack of amateur background.

Both those qualities rapidly decreased over his last fights. Add the heavy injuries to that and at this point in time I cannot see him evading GGG's accurate power shots.

I love Sergio but if they fight in the future, Martinez will get sparked badly.

if martinez wasnt old as **** coming off bad performances id say he could outbox him but not anymore...

i honestly would love to see GGG rise to the top of the 160 division (and its only a matter of time) but id prefer to see martinez just retire and pass the torch on)

At this point you have to favour GGG. Martinez seemed to have slowed down considerably while GGG is in his absolute prime.

Depends on how much is left on Martinez.. But my vote is Martinez by T/KO.. :deal

I dont know if its just me but as I remember, GGG seems uncomfortable when he's on the defensive end.. I just thought Martinez or Chavez Jr. would beat him.. :conf

I'm pretty confident that Sergio would get good boy'd at this point. He's becoming easier to hit and against an accurate puncher with murderous power he could be in trouble.

Although it was against a vastly-inferior fighter, the style GGG used against Proksa would work against Martinez. Touch him up top, throw some heavy body-shots to slow him down before bringing it back upstairs.

    GGG by stoppage.

A year ago I would have said Martinez, but his last performance was terrible.

He's old now and has had one too many leg surgeries which have seriously messed him up.

    Golovkin by KO

Martinez - Golovkin a year ago woulda been fantastic, but the Maravilla that fought Murray would be in serious trouble. Sergio's a great champ with nothing left to prove, but this is not a fight he wants. Better to retire on top, or take a last payday against someone he can beat.

Stick them together now and GGG would knock him out.

Sergio has looked awful while winning his last 2 or 3 bouts. Its a sign that age is catching up to him. Therefore I will say triple G stops Martinez mid rounds.

Yea, Golovkin is bad for Sergio's health up to this point. Triple G would pound him into submission

3G would utterly destroy Martinez. Martinez is a bit overrated. I hope this fight happens. I will laugh my butt off as he is waken by his corner men.

an a massive maravilla fan i dont like this fight for him at this point in his career. He looked terrible in his last fight and could have easily lost it. Martinez is clearly on the slide, Prime Martinez could possibly Ud him.
