Sergio Martinez is stuck without a natural opponent, I think he should move up, no point in unifying as the belts were stripped off him in the first place.

    How would Sergio do vs:

Froch, Ward, Bute, Johnson, Dirrell or Kessler @ 168

Hopkins or Dawson with a catchweight of 170/ 171

Heard him in a interview with Smitty at the Hall of Fame and he's fed up of people asking him to move up, he's staying at 160 for the time being. However the bigger names are at 168

If he can carry his power then he'd do great moving up.. The thing with Martinez is that he moves and boxes very well. But at the same time he is very hittable. The only thing stopping a guy from staying completely in his chest all night is that he has very good power that has developed recently.. Even without he could probably be competitive up there.

Lets remember that he had to move up in weight to get fights. That being said I think he is too small for those guys. Maybe the extra weight might affect his speed and stamina

I'd fancy his chances against any of the top guys at SMW. Weight-wise, he doesn't have to go in at the limit, if he goes in at 165, he'd be ok. Or he can do a Pacquiao and he demand a catchweight, though I'd doubt they would agree as he is not a huge ticketseller / big name (compared to Pacquiao, who can set whatever terms he wants).

He should just fight Winky, take him out of his misery . Sadly Winky still thinks he can be competitive with the elite fighters today . This is not 2005/06 anymore....

Martinez can't hang at 168: too small. He should fight Chavez Jr. He'd make a mint.

Thats why Martinez should take that fight just as a tuneup,Just too stay busy . Everyones entitled to one easy payday . I like Winky ,But he needs to retire already, someone needs to let him know that his time has passed. Martinez could def show him that .

Completely different type of fighter, but it might end up like AA if Martinez moved up again. I think he is at the right weight just now, but it's kinda unfortunate for him that the traditional middleweight division is empty of talent, whereas the newer SMW division is lively. Chavez Jr. is probably the best option, but his team would be scared to make a fight with Maravilla!
