I disagree. He was the best in a mediocre era but his dominance and his wins over fellow atg Hearns and Duran and his close fight with fellow atg Leonard guarantees him a place as a Top5 mw of all-time - personally i have him at 3.

Top 10 all-time 160lber no doubt, and an icon of his age. The last proper mainstream blue collar champion IMO.

I have Hagler at #1 (MW). He was my second least fave fighter of the Fab Four, though.

i wouldnt call it a mediocre era. minter, sibson, mugabi, hamsho, antfermo were all good fighters who were capable of having a good reign in another era

On his rise to the title, he beat some really good fighters in willie monroe, benny briscoe and bobby watts.

He beat elite ATG THomas Hearns in 3

I believe that Haglers reign would of been much longer if not for boxing politics

It´s just like with the hw but not as worse. If you compare it to other eras it was mediocre, just like the last mw era and what we have now.

I would still argue Harry Greb. Billy Miske, Al McCoy, Jack Dillon, Battling Levinsky, Willie Meehan, Mike McTigue, Gunboat Smith, Solider Bartfield and Mike Gibbons are all victims of his at middleweight, not to mention his wins over the likes of Tommy Gibbons, Gene Tunney, Tommy Loughran, Kid Norfolk and Tiger Flowers at light-heavy when he weighed in around the middleweight limit still.

Monzon beat better opposition and ranks higher, imo.

some would disagree with that. a lot of people say that he beat mostly welterweights.

i am not as knowlegable about CM but I know that he beat Bennie Briscoe and that Valdez fella twice. both were pretty hot in there day
