I noticed that there isn´t a thread yet, so I made one. Parlov, a former amateur super star (257-19), at the pro´s LHW- champion of the world, died with 59 years. R.I.P. Mate! :bbb

A few days back (29th July)

A solid, sturdy fighter; I would say his finest moment came when he outpointed John Conteh in defence of his WBC 175lbs title. Conteh having been unbeaten for the previous six years and indeed had not lost his WBC title in the ring.

The first Yugoslavian fighter to win a world title in the modern era; Parlov lost his crown to Marvin Johnson, before moving to Cruiserweight and being involved in the first ever world title fight at 190lbs (a 15 round draw with Marvin Camel).

Parlov lost a rematch with Camel and retired with a 24-3-2 record. His other draw and defeat being to Matt Saad Muhammad (Franklin/Loach).

I think I remember seeing Parlov fight on TV several times, but probably not against Saad M.
