Ok..then just tell me that GEAT WINS that he has? What big fighter he has beat? If anyone gives Kimbo..or anyone that is on his 5-0 Record your on DOPE. I have agree that a Kongo-Pat winner would be a good step-up fiight. And still will stand on that. Old Joe and the UFC are just go over the top on this guy...and that my friends is the truth. He hasn't be tested vs a good fighter... If you like this who he has fought....then it's proven true.. A SUCKER is born every day.
Shane might have the fight beaten out of him in the last fight..but that would be a good win for Matt if he won
I don't see it happening.. Carwin loses a shot at the title and he is fighting Mitrione next? It would be a sweet matchup, but doubtful. Kongo/Carwin and Mitrione/Browne make the most sense.
Forgot all about Mir.. All this HW talk is making me wet. How about The UFC puts all these HWs on a single card :happy
I'm not going to tell you his wins make him great, but it's not like Mitrione has a big time fighting background either. There is no wrestling background. There is no bjj background. There is no boxing background. There is no kickboxing back ground. I don't even know if he took a karate class. Kimbo Slice had accomplished more as a fighter than Mitrione before being cast on the TUF 10 season. Mitrione is doing just fine for a former football player jumping into a new sport.
Mir has much better striking than Matt and if that goes to ground Matt might as well just tap. Big Roy has good striking himself put Roy or Mir in there with Morecraft and it would be a massacre much earlier than what Matt did. Big Roy and Mir would be way too much for Matt now. Struve has decent striking and decent subs I think that would be a decent fight for Matt.
They are bringing him up nice and slowly, and he improves with every outing. Travis Browne would be an excellent opponent for him. Maybe even Nelson. Even though he is coming off losses, they are very high profile losses. That might be too big of a step, though.
I only agree in as much as Mitrione needs more time to improve his all round game, but I think he's faster, lighter on his feet and a bigger puncher than Mir. Less skilled at submissions and wrestling as he is.
