Obviously I can see it was not much. But, was there anything that you can say "Listen, Max was really good doing this and this and that in terms of pure technique and skill" ?

I can see that he had alright timing to land that right hand on Carnera, he doesnt miss it too much, does he ?

Any thought regarding this is appreciated.

Yikes! Baer may as well have locked his arms and spun around in a circle for all the technique he displayed! Hilarious though.....and I wouldn't have fu¢ked with him....

I've wondered what a teacher like Blackburn, etc., could have done with Max, he never really got beyond those backhands he threw.

Give max a snappy consistent jab to compliment that right hand and he would've been very tough to beat. Every time I watch him on film I find myself wondering why his trainer(s) didn't force him to develop one. Maybe they thought his power would be enough.

His technique was basically to land his brutal right hand...that's basically it...

I think Max probably didn't even hear whatever his trainers said to him, he simply didn't care enough to his boxing career I guess

From what I gather they tried, but he was not a good student!

Baer did not care much about boxing and was seldom motivated. He just happened to have a great right hand. He was a clownish outside the ring.

IMO, terrible on defense and lacked a good jab to set up his big right hand.
