Maxim-Patterson

Was always told this was a bad decision that should have went in favor of Patterson. When I viewed it, didn't think it was as controversial as some made it out to be and my scorecard was pretty much in line with the judges.

Your thoughts on the fight anyone?

 

I thought Patterson clearly won. I have the complete fight. Most versions are missing a round or two.

 

Never saw the fight myself but I’ve heard the same thing. Floyd was robbed. Seems like Patterson was on the bad end of a lot of decisions. Maxim, Ellis, and both Quarry fights were all controversial

 

Floyd won a newspaper decision.

 

For what it's worth (and I've seen the entire fight), I think Joey edged Floyd.

 

I love Patterson and agree with the sources that say he was robbed, but also Maxim was on the tail-end of a illustrious career and Patterson was relatively green. I'd never mind if someone argues a win for Maxim cause I'm sure he gave it his all much like Patterson would.

 

True. By that point in his career Maxim had more wear and tear than one of Christ’s sandals.

 

As I recall, the version I saw might have been missing a round or two. Maybe the complete version is on youtube, it's another fight I should give another watch.
