smiffy, where do you get those nice Eubank and Benn avatars, mate. I've asked you about that on another thread as well. Don't know if you read it though.

Its just that I've been looking for some nice Eubank and/or Benn avatars for a week now with no luck. Any advise where to look?

there was talk of the g-man vs. RJJ once gerald got by benn. that blew up obviously, there were rumours of benn-RJJ but benn was finished after the g-man fight, mentally and physically.

If you take Jones jnr, toney, benn, eubank, collins, mccallum ,mclellan and watson as the superior MW and SMW's of that era on head to head they fought the following amount of fights between them...

    Eubank 6 ( benn 2 ,collins 2, watson 2 )
    Watson 4 ( Eubank 2, Benn, Mccallum )
    Collins 5 ( Eubank 2, Benn 2, Mccallum )
    Benn 6 ( Eubank 2, Watson, Collins 2, mclellan )
    Toney 2 ( jones jnr, mcallum )
    Jones jnr 1 ( toney )
    Mclellan 1 ( benn )
    mccallum 3 ( watson, collins,toney )

obviously watson and g-man had their careers cut short but i'd say badintentions argument about our fighters ducking the big boys in those days doesn't really stack up.

There's a good comparison between Mayorga and the early, middleweight Benn, yes.

At super-middle Benn became a more refined, versatile fighter.

I take it you don't think Michael Nunn counts?

good point, stick him on then. nunn was meant to fight the winner of benn-eubank 2 was he not, he was at ringside. was that before toney beat him?

Bad Intentions initial proposition is Mayorga wasnt necessarily worse than Benn because Mayorga had faced better opposition. Since when are older versions of Trinidad, Delahoya and Mosley better than Prime McCellan, Eubank, Watson and Barkley? Benn would murder Trinidad at 160 anyway

As for ducking Benn wanted the Jones Jr fight but Jones didnt want to face him supposedly because he didnt want to work with Don King. Benn openly admits he'd probably lose, especially as he was shot after McCellan

As for not facing Toney, it just never happened, it may have done if Toney beat Jones but he didnt. There probably wasnt enough money in the bout before then

    :huh :nono

Benn and Mayogra have both fought world class opponents. I don't know what you are talking about.
