This is one fight where Margarito is the much better and disciplined fighter. I don't think Mayorga could sustain a long enough punch out put to try and match Margarito. Not to mention aside from the haymaker, Mayorga doesn't have much of an arsenal. At least nothing Margarito could withstand. Margarito's just more serious about boxing, and I don't think he'd allow himself to lose to someone as crude as Mayorga. Late in the fight when Mayorga's hands are down resting, he's tired, he'd get pummeled. TKO 10.
This could have been one of the greatest slugfest ever @ 147. I'd give an edge to Margarito but it's close.
I can't believe how many are think Mayorga can pull a win against Margo. To have a chance against Margo to start of with you need to box, and keep pumping jabs. Mayorga has no Jab and can't box to save his life. Mayorga can take a good shot though, DLH dropped him in the 1st round. So he'll last for a good 10 rounds then crumble. Both fighters can take shots and hit like mule kicks. Margo, however, is technically a better fighter than Mayorga.
Matador literally means Killer in spanish. The term is given given to bull fighters to describe what they do, they kill the bulls.
Right now, Margarito wins. Mayorga abuses his body, and doesn't really have the heart to compete at the championship level right now. Margarito would take everything Mayorga throws and stop Mayorga in the later rounds.
mayorga tko at 147 in his prime no one was close to hurting him then,the only way every1 knows, to beat him is to either box his head off(spinks) or more superior firpower(trinidad),margo is not a slick boxer and is no trinidad when it comes to punching power
