I remember Sky never bought the rights for Mayweather-Ortiz because it was too much and they never wanted to take the risk on PPV, straight after the Haye-Klitschko PPV dissapointment, so Mayweather-Ortiz ended up on Primetime. Funnily enough Amir Khan did the same thing to Sky earlier in that year with the Paul McCloskey fight. There were also rumours of Boxnation doing some sort of PPV for Mayweather-Khan rights? And If Mayweather-Khan was on PPV here, Khan would be getting some percentage of the British PPV, or just a bigger lump sum.
Agreed. I was far more intrigued to see Khan vs Mayweather then Mayweather vs Maidana. Now i'm not going to say Khan would have beaten Floyd but i could make a fair better case for that outcome then with Maidana. Khan has always done well against slicker, faster fighters like Kotelnik, Judah, Malignaggi and McCloskey. It's always been the rather crude sluggers or mid range hookers like Prescott, Maidana and Garcia that he get's in trouble against. The problem with Maidana is that he's a foot planter in that he needs to plant his feet to generate power on his punches, that's all good against someone like Broner who has no footwork but when he starts trying to find Mayweather he'll always be out of range like he was against Alexander. Mayweather could win this fight 12-0 if he wanted to but i think he'll sweep the first 9 rds and then cruise to victory in the last 3 and win a UD something like 10-2 (118-110).
Can I ask a question.... Why would Khan's style trouble Mayweather when Khan's style (recently) did not really trouble career light Julio Diaz, Danny Garcia, Lamont Peterson... Khan is hardly a riddle, easy to hit and hurt and lacks genuine power at LWW.... so why? Also Khan is so undeserving of a Mayweather payday, 2-2 in his last 4, not the number 1 at LWW, does not hold a belt and has never boxed at WW. It was ridiculous Khan was even mentioned.

Kotelnik is actually very slick defensively, watch his fight against Alexander as he should have got the decision. I also thought his win over Maidana was fair too, close but he just did enough to win. Judah may have been past it but he still has speed and as for McCloskey, he may be **** but he's still a Mayweather wannabe. Of cause Khan didn't deserve the Mayweather fight, no one is arguing that. He just would have been the first boxer that had faster handspeed/footwork then Floyd and with the right gameplan he could have made life very difficult in a fight between them. There is a famous American saying that applies to Khan "Million dollar talent, ten cent brain". He's probabaly got the talent to beat any one in the world including Mayweather but his brain makes decisions that are so poor, they counter-act the talent. If he fought Mayweather the way he did against Kotelnik then i would give him a good chance to beat Floyd, that was the one fight where i fought Khan looked truly world class.

I don't give Floyd a pass just because "their with another promoter" he tells us he is his own boss i'm my own promoter ect if he wants to fight someone he can make it happen, he chooses not to the fact that he won't work with Arum doesn't give him a pass on not fighting those guys.
