Missing the weight limit is BS. IMO part of the commissions responsibility should be to insure that I fighter is on pace to make the limit. $ is the only way to make that happen.

I agree, but I don't think the commission does that and if they do its a fine and probably not much of one at that. I'm saying that if someone misses the weight limit, that they should have to pay the other fighter for damages regardless if the fight takes place or is canceled. And that amount should be significant. Not just an insignificant fine that probably goes to the commission anyhow.
I haven't heard or seen if there is an overweight clause or not, but this being a WBA title fight, I one of them comes in over weight, then the belt will not be on the line. That should be motivation enough for both to make weight, IMO.
