    I don't think Clottey is a bad fighter at all... In fact, I think he is pretty damn good.

    But EVERYTHING Clottey does well, Floyd does better. Aside from that, Floyd is quicker and smarter. I just don't see Clottey winning more than a round or two...

    who knows what happened in negotiations? and it doesn't matter to me since cotto has mosley, margarito, clottey, and pacquiao at welter, the last one alone is sufficient to me to prove that cotto is a warrior and will not hesitate to take on anyone.

    If it doesn't matter to you then why did you jump in to this debate about Mayweather going on vacation in the first place?

    The fact is Cotto hasn't fought any of Martinez, Williams, Mayweather or Hatton when he was in their weight divisions and to my memory has never publicly chased any of them either, now if you're suggesting Mayweather ducked Cotto because he didn't fight him then surely Cotto ducked all of the above as he never fought them either going by your criteria.

    I hate to say it but this is true IMO.

    Clottey is just not active enough to win. All Floyd would need to do would be to increase his workrate to win this one. Its not even worth thinking aobut.

    i'm talking about track record. floyd has a habit of taking a vacation when a threat appears. cotto back in 2008 and pacquiao currently. cotto has been proven at welter more so than floyd was and floyd even become a welterweight first than cotto.

    Pac Shutting out a full blown tough welterweight in Clottey is one of his most underrated underappreciated victories.

    Clottey is a very good fighter proved in his Judah Collazo Margo and Cotto fights. For Pac in his 1st fight at full Welter Limit to win every round is impressive.

    To answer the question, floyd wins this in a boring fight.

    Mayweather seizing him up…
    Clottey approach nearer, but still covered…
    Mayweather backs up to remain safe distance…
    Clottey gives him a tiger stare to scare him…
    Mayweather answers back with a fake punch…
