Does Monzon wear out and land on Mayweather, or is Floyd too fast and defensive?

He would demand Monzon shrink to 152 like he demanded Canelo did and if he really felt Monzon was a threat he would have demanded he shrink to 147.

Floyd only weighed above 150 a couple of times and he could have made the welterweight limit at any point in his career. The biggest advantage Mayweather would have over Monzon would be his speed and quickness. If he moved to 158, even during his prime, I believe it would have slowed him down enough for Monzon to be able to connect on a regular basis. I'll go with Monzon by decision, 145-140.

One last thing, why 158? Why couldn't it just be PBF going up to 160 in an attempt to take Monzon's mythical middleweight crown.

King Carlos Monzon by a KO, Monzon would have had 15 title defenses in this mythical matchup.

Floyd Mayweather fought heralded prospect Logan Paul at 158 pounds. All kidding aside the motivation for threads like these is the total and utter disregard fans of Floyd Mayweather show for other boxers.

I reckon Monzon would turn him inside out. Mayweather had no business fighting above 147 in the first place and Monzon was fekkin huge.

If life gives you a lemon…….

Monzon destroys Floyd. Possibly a career ending beating. Floyd might even get lucky at some point and land his Sunday punch - Monzon won’t even blink. Valdez couldn’t even keep Monzon down but for 1/2 a second.

Carlos will pound Floyd at range and keep him there - the heads not yet fully available yet? Fine, we’ll give the body equal attention with thudding punches underneath the guard. No rush, plenty of time to break Mayweather down and the guard will lower perceptibly rd by rd.

There’s nothing Floyd has to keep Monzon off him - even if he manages some decent counters - it won’t arrest Monzon or his constantly busy hands. Carlos might even cap it off with a bone crunching, Benvenuti style right hand KO -

The lemon has been squeezed dry…..

I will give Mayweather good odds. Monzon will not be able to "destroy" FMJ, who would be easily the greatest fighter the Argentinian ever fought.
He was for his time with same day weigh ins, but the difference between him and somebody like Josh Taylor is not that great.
Took 14 rounds to stop Griffith and won a points decision in the second match. No chance he can outclass Floyd.

that is what I am thinking also. But it would be a dominating win for Carlos
