Well he's a former WBA SFW Champion, beat Kohei Kono, he then would have added the IBF title he beat Daiki Kameda in a unification but he failed to make the weight. Also in his last fight he fought Yamanaka and had him on the floor twice but was outclassed for pretty the rest of the fight, so he's a certainly not a bum. McDonell's gonna have to be on his game IMO.
A good quality opp but to be fair to mac hes one of our p4p. He just doesnt have the oomf of the others but hes very effective
Great start by Solis - Jamie having a torrid time of it. If this was Quigg or Frampton hitting him this easily with the right he would be in serious trouble here.
Better end to the round for McDonnell there, but he needs to get the fight long and snap that jab out n get it straight back to the chin. Solis shooting that right hand over the top of the jab very nicely
Solis seems to be tiring a bit - but Jamie needs to take control from now on or he will be the ex-champ here.
Solis starting to look a bit ragged but he has a lot of rounds in the bank. Encouraging signs for Jamie but the problem is that Jamie normally is the one dictating the pace. Solis has taken this away from him tonight.
Big round for Mac that! Winning the round, having the last word and had him hurt at the end. Needs to push on and build on this now.
Jamie needs a knockdown or two very big rounds. But Im giving the 11th to Solis - he outworked Jamie. Jamie needed that round and for me he lost it.
