Hadn't seen this in a while, just saw it again. No way was that a legit KO. As old as Mercer was, a shot like that is not going to even knock him down. Did he fake it and hope for it to be called a rabbit punch or something? He even looked fine while on the floor. Bull**** KO.
He clearly decided he had enough and just laid down, no way that was a legit KO. He was breathing really heavily while on the canvas he may have just been totally spent and thought it better to just quit rather than take a sustained beating.
Absolutely fake. Ray Mercer in recent interview noted that he tried to get DQ win so he was laying on the floor and played like it was hard KO caused by illegal blow. However, referee decided to count him out :roll:
