My point is this........ Tyson's hardcore fans will say Lewis could NEVER beat the Tyson that beat Holmes. Ali's hardcores fans will say the exact same thing of Holmes beating the Ali that beat Frazier. Your right though that most sensible fans will look back on Lennox Lewis as a potential GOAT. And a case could easily be made for his being the GOAT. BUt bring that theory here today, right now, and the deranged Ali and Louis and Marciano fans will deride the statement as if it's pure delusion. Louis would shatter Lewis chin all over the arena. And Marciano shattered a 33 y/o Louis chin. Marciano<Lewis. It's a ridiculous argument, but we see it made everyday. The fact remains that fans are always subconsciously favoring their guys, even in fantasy H2H matchups their guy aint in. This idea that Mercer is sooooo much better than Peter is a perfect example of that. Some say Peter is Vitali's and Wlad's top 2-3 wins. Mercer ranks below Lewis's top 5....therefore neither Vitali nor Wladimir is fit to shake the **** outta Lewis' pecker. A month ago Sam Peter was training for a comeback fight that was canceled. I think the venue fell through an they werent gonna move it to a gymnasium and a solid top 100 couldnt be arranged. He JUST turned 33, young for a talented solid HW. He's fought 15 solid top 100's in his pro career. 15, and before his 32nd birthday. All 5 of his losses have come to top 10 fighters in their prime. While I don't think he'll ever beat a Klitschko, I wouldn't give Ray Mercer a snowballs chance in hell of beating a Klitshcko. Prime for prime or whatever. Sam Peter gave Wlad all he could handle.
