He has yet to finish 10 fights. Lets wait until he gets his barrings before we call it on him. Same goes for Haney and Shakur.
There’s always been a buzz around him like he’s expected to be a star,needs four fights a year to kick on imo.
Im feeling the buzz around him and im not so sure about it. Hes certainly good but all im seeing is a high volume of good quality work rate theres plenty people at the top of the division will be able to match him on that. That extra bit of quality that makes me go WOW has been missing for me.
Yes I remember following Frampton from the start and he had that extra quality and was rated pound for pound before he decided to ditch his boxing ability against Cruz.
Too early to say, he's not impressed me all that much so far, seems a little sloppy defensively at times, but he might just be trying too hard to impress.
Overhyped. Better than other prospects we have like Quigley but still has a lot to prove...poor defense, gets sucked into wars, lacks power...
Shakur Stevenson has impressed me the most of the young prospects. He has all the skills, quality defence, footwork, counter punching etc. He still needs to prove he can take a punch and has the mental fortitude and mental discipline to succeed though. So as you say the jury is out until he's more tested but he has all the tools in the tool box to make it to the top from what I've seen so far.
