just seen him on ringside ,what a top top boxer he was .loved watching him and a shame to see he had to hit rock bottom...its boxers like this that need help after their ring careers are over .hopefully with Hatton coming out talking about the depression after boxing it will have a knock on effect ...

Was great to watch. The Laszlo Bognar rematch was pretty memorable.

A good book on Gomez and the Manchester fight scene is 'Fighting Chance' by Derick Allsop.

It's hard to see him now...when he was in all of those wars in the back of my mind I was all always worried about the effects it would have and it's plaIn to see he's been wrecked.

Always entertaining to watch always gave value for money epic fight against Arthur.

It was a tough watch the wars in & just as much out of the ring have taken their toll.

Not seen hin on ringside but I think a measure of his toughness was he stopped the Armenian who Carl Johanneson couldn't do anything with, twice.

Last time I seen him fight was against Ricky Burns and he acted like an absolute mong in the build up trying to bully Ricky and showing the true scumbag he really was,low and behold Ricky destroyed him.He was also involved in that match fixing scandal with Peter McDonagh, besides his war with Alex Arthur can't really say too much about him,the guys had a rough life though that much is evident.

it really is sad and the governing bodies of the sport constantly turn a blind eye to it , I work in the gambling industry and both greyhounds and horses receive money from the industry to assist with re homing and life after racing yet in boxing next to nothing is done no levy is placed on tickets or purse bids to generate money that could be used to assist fighters in life after sport however it appears that humans are worth less than animals in sport
