This, in my opinion, is a proper 50-50 fight.

Mitchell has looked good (very good some would say) in his two fights at 135. He showed us a completely different side to his game against Prescott, something I thought he was incapable of doing - not getting drawn into a war, boxing to orders and keeping a tight defence.

However, are fights against Prescott and that other Colombian fella enough to prepare him for the intensity of Katsidis? Or is this Mitchell's moment, where he shows us all how good he is?

I don't expect Mitchell to go to war with him. I expect him to do another Prescott tbh. But I pray I'm wrong.

Katsidis is big at 140 and will stop him round 6 or 7.

Good job the fight's at 135 then :p

I think Mitchell will try and outbox him, survive a few scares, and win by a margin of something like 116-112.

My Worry is same Worry i had when he fought Prescott. He can box but will he get clipped and then engage in trench warfare. Well last time he stuck to the task beautifully but Prescott was a 4 round man who once he couldn't land flush would unravel.

Katsidis is there for 12 rounds..he will be there in your face throwing spiteful hooks and he's improved and is a real world level test.

For this fight i don't feel Kevin has to use the ring as much as the Prescott fight. He doesn't want to allow Katsidis to walk him down, he doesn't want to be in front of Katsidis all night running. Cos it will be a long night.

It's gonna be a hard twelve rounds so he needs to mix it up. Use lateral movement with feints and look to follow Diaz blueprint of sharp combination's and then off to the side and keep Katsidis turning as much as you can in the pocket. By doing this you can open up cuts on him and bust him up bit by bit and also more importantly walk him onto more harder straight shots..guy turns like a HGV.

Just keep turning him and walking him onto shots, Laying traps, Kev can bang a fair bit as well so he shouldn't set out to do something that doesn't allow him to use his best facets.

When Micheal Under Loads Kev must remain composed...but 25,000 fans at Upton Park...i dunno if Kev can resist a tear up.

Your right Ishy it's a pick'em i see good gameplans for both.

It really could go either way, I think Katsidis has a better chance of KO'ing Mitchell but Mitchell has a better chance of getting a points decision. It should be a real war, possibly fight of the year. Their styles make for a mouth watering match up. If I have to choose, I'll reluctantly go for a Katsidis KO.

I think that sticking to his game plan is what this contest is all about for Kevin Mitchell...:yep I think he can beat Katsidis, even stop him if he fights the right fight...:yep

There is no doubt at some point Kev will want to take Katsidis on the cobbles and mix it up, that's what gives me the shits...:yep Because he don't have to go on the cobbles in this fight. Smart, accurate boxing skills and fitness will bring him the World Title...:yep

    C'mon Kevin Mitchell...:happy :happy

PS My support for Kevin Mitchell has got nowt to do with my 60 day avatar bet with Dan...

Although i think it will be a war, i expect it to go the distance and Mitchell to win by decision.

    pongjohnsong

    I know, i forgot cocoa.

    Ridiculous all that **** eh..........innit ?

On topic its, 50-50 given the circumstances. Eg. Warrens new boy etc.

If this was neutral, say ....up in a Highland Glen then theres not a chance its a 50.

Kev M to pull of a boxing clinic ?

Kats to have a slide fight ?

    Kats to burst him ?

Mitchell win via payed ref and doctor ?

    Nothings gonna be surprising.

Mitchell, i liked him before and i do now as he is boxing a bit more but you know he will get tasty when the opportunity arises.

    Cant wait :thumbsup
