I agree. As much as I love McCallum, beating prime Nunn is a tall order. Even James Toney was trailing badly against Nunn when he landed in the 11th and won by KO. Toney was a much sharper puncher than McCallum. I could see McCallum having his moments but ultimately losing a decision.
I think the Jackson bout is an easy night's work. Beats McCallum comfortably. Do not like the wide lead right hands to the body Mike threw against this guy. He gets peppered and does not have the footspeed to close that gap. Think Graham does the best. And might get the W if the bout takes place in Enggland and make Nunn the road warrior. I think under those circumstances Herol has the best chance. Imagine the love for Nunn if he would have got those big bouts-----Hagler > the Leonard bout. Or the Sugarman as well. Hearns. would be a very impressive set of credentials. But a guy has to get the big fights and america presents could not land them during that timeframe.
It's a shame he didn't get a fight with one of the 4 King's. Hagler of course was retired by the time Nunn was champ but Sugar Ray or Hearns would have been interesting bouts.
If memory serves----Nunn was next in line for Hagler > Leonard. What a tough schedule of fights that would have been for an old middleweight; Hearns/Mugabi/Leonard/Nunn. What other middles can pull that off against those 4 anyway? That is an awful lot to concede those reflexes to younger fighters and come out with victories. The wear and tear and most likely a 3 or 2.5 year span for the bouts to transpire. Yikes.
