Made a comeback the other week (16th) Stopping Sean Davis in the first, flooring him 4 times before the stoppage. Michael who is affectionaly known as 'the mad one' when we speak of the Walsh bros made a comeback stopping Davis which is not a bad feat in itself. Davis took thomas ward the full twelve a couple of years ago and he also went the full 8 with q. Ashfaq only a couple of month ago. Reece Mould got him out in 4 earlier in the year, a fight I went to watch, it was for the English fw strap and was a great fight altho Reece was too much for Sean it would of been interesting to see how the fight might of changed if Sean could of hung in for a couple more rds, just for the fact that it of liked to of seen Reece get more rds under his belt. Anyway Davis is arguably seen as a gatekeeper to the English level of the sport so I think this is a great statement for Michael to make in his comeback. He was initially touted to be a 126 fighter back when he started out, his brother Ryan holds the British title at that weight but whether or not he could still do 126 remains to be seen. I'm not sure on his full intentions and commitment now his back and we have to remember he is 35 now. He was always an exciting fighter and 12 wins with 12kos is testament to this fighters ability, especially down in the low weights where k.os are fewer. I hope has back for one last serious go at a campaign. He's always train as alongside his bros and kept in shape even tho he wasn't active himself. So that will stand him in good stead. Good to see him back.
Really big puncher and Davis isn't bad -- good comeback win. He will be in some fun fights so hoepfully stays busy now and gets in the mix
He's had some pretty heavy personal issues to deal with, he used to drink in a pub not far from me and I've heard a few stories but it's good to see him back, as mentioned above, some potentially fun fights await.
35 years old but 12 fights wins and all ko’s, time is not on his side and the Walsh brothers have always been terribly managed
Stuey hall was around 38 when he won a world title but you are correct, time isnt on his side. I'm pretty sure He could win a British which would mean all 3 bros winning a British and afaik that's a feat that only the smith bros have achieved, I.e Smigga, Liam & swifty. I do think it'll be interesting to have him back on the British scene.
Graham Everett loves that Lonsdale belt, Sexton and Ryan and Liam Walsh have both won it, he might be able to steer Michael in the right direction. I'm torn between whether they've been badly managed or managed just right, Liam and Ryan are hardly World beaters but both have had fairly decent careers and Liam got himself a fight with Gervonta Davis. Sexton came back from the wilderness to become British champion, Ryan still is and Michael has overcome his demons to give it one last go.
