Tyson had one of the greatest chins in boxing, it took Douglas 10-11 rounds to get the job done, and even then Tyson was standing on his fight when the fight was finished.

Same with Holyfield, the last round of Fight 1 was basically Holyfield throwing his hardest shots and he was barely moving Mike, he was probably more exhausted than hurt. He finished that fight on his feet as well

The only person who truly K Tyson TFO was Lennox, thats one fight which Tyson finished on the floor.

Against Williams, the commentators actually counted the amount of unanswered punches, i think it was 34 or something like that. Same Williams dropped Audley with ONE punch in their first fight. He also damaged hsi knee i believe in that fight

Against Mcbride, he wasnt hit by a punch, he just dropped down and couldnt get up.

Tysons chin ranks as one of the greatest, next to Ali's

and I doubt he got hit with the same power shots ali got hit with.

His chin was very good, just short of great.

    I'd say around 7.5/8 out of 10

It's not up there with Ali's though, no way.

    I agree with this.

Mike had an excellent chin, though not a granite one. It could be cracked... it just took ALOT of punishment to crack it.

You can forget about phasing him with one shot. He took the best shots Ruddock had to offer, and smiled.

I'd agree with that. the punishment he took in the Lewis and Douglas fights prove it. those fights also prove his heart as well.

very durable. He was hit clean by Frank Bruno and Douglas and Ruddock and didn't fall. Even Lennox had to hit him over and over to stop Mike. Mike had a good chin. It is his defense which faltered near the Douglas fight that started his losses.

  9. i agree absolutely, but to say he had iron chin is simply ridiculous.
lamotta, ali, foreman, hagler, holyfield, chuvalo, mercer, oliver mccall... they had great chins, tyson had ok chin, not great

He could take a punch, but he could be hurt and discouraged easier than a Muhammad Ali or a George Foreman.

Tyson's legs went completely here so it's not like the man couldn't be hurt:

    Truth :thumbsup

Ronny Lyle Haymakers And Youngs' Haymaker what floored Foreman would of KTFO Tyson. Stewart And Qawi Haymakers what hurt Old Foreman would Of hurt Tyson lots , LOTS more And maybe floored him. :thumbsup

Tyson was Easier to discourage - look At Douglas , Holyfeild And Lennox discourage him - Foreman would of Kept attacking And won by KO , instead of gettin discouraged. :thumbsup

    Foreman Hooooooook! :hat
