Obviously with such a huge main event this is not getting much coverage on here or in the press, what do you guys think will happen? Gonna go with Mitchell, just think everything will be in his favour on the night and he wants it more. Plus he is better.
I think that if Johanneson turns up with his head right, and in decent shape, he will expose Kevin Mitchell. This is a big jump up in class for Mitchell, who has fought absolutely nobody whilst building up a 25-0 record. I accept that you can only beat who is in front of you, but for me he lacks the ability to deal with somebody who is actually capable of hitting him back, therefore I go for Carl to win this one.
This fight will tell us if Mitchell has it in him to fight above domestic level. Im going for a Mitchell mid round stoppage.
Mitchell looks a fantastic talent but his record is so padded it should be down graded to 10-0 at best. For me the fight depends on which Johanesson turns up. I really like the bloke and I have seen him fight a few times live but this may be his last hilt, especially if the injury rumoures are true. I hope not. Johanesson has done things the hard way and has fought alot of good guys as well as defeating a few rating prospects, hopefully this will be no different and he will win. I can not see it going te full distance and although IO would love Johanesson to win im following the hype and picking Mitchell by 8round KO.
what you gotta realise is that Mitchell turned pro at least 2 years before he should have, so he is where most should be after 15 fights.
Yep your right but it is a dramatic jump in class from the guys he has fought before. He may turn out to be the real deal but Johanneson is one of the most underated guys in Britain. If Mitchell had had a steady build up over the last year or so but they have just about all been bad hand picked jobs to make him look great.
I kmow it is hard at times to get opponents and the situation regarding his last fight was unfortunate but a steady build up by the time he has faced 25 guys. You are right, he started early and needed alot of sof opponents before moving up the ladder but now he is at that stage where belts are on the line a few decent tough opponents would have done him no harm.
Thats how I see it. I see a very dominant perforance coming from Mitchell, I think he could be our next big thing.
Appleby's last fight reminded me of Creed vs Balboa 2 but with less defensive acumen. The Mitchell vs Johanesson fight will give us a clear indicator on how far Mitchell can go. If he is has good as he's supposed to be it should be over mid round no matter what version of Carl we get to see. I think it will be a tough fight for both but I am not completely sold on Mitchell yet. His opponents have been too weak to make a judgement on. When Ramogoadi is the sternest test you have had in 25 fights your class is not certain. Maybe a couple of build up fights against the likes of Ricky Burns, Fehintola, McKeever, Henry Castle and Kevin O'Hara could have been better than the string of poor Europeans the lad has faced.
mitchell down the stetch. carl will make it interesting early i reckon. but mitchell's pace and punch picking will get to carl.
